2023

25 January - The American company Columbia Helicopters Inc. sells the Kawasaki-Vertol 107-II N185CH to Heliswiss International. The large helicopter coming from Turkey lands at Locarno airport during the ferry flight Istanbul - Hältikon. Its purchase was decided because of the uncertainty caused by the sanctions imposed on Russia. Powered by two General Electric CT58-140-2, the large helicopter with tandem rotors can reach a maximum speed of 148 knots (274 km/h). Depending on the weather conditions, it has a lifting capacity at the barycentric hook between 3,500 and 4,400 kg. Its spacious cabin can accommodate up to 17 passengers.

2024

December 5 - The first of 21 new Airbus H145 D3 HB-TIB rescue helicopters with a 5-blade main rotor developed for Rega's needs is being delivered to the Rega Centre in Zurich. The new aircraft, one of the most modern in its class, offers numerous advantages for both patients and crew. The spacious cabin, which has been further optimised compared to the previous model by Rega's interdisciplinary design team, offers ideal conditions for both patients and crew.
A new navigation and avionics system will enable even more precise approach procedures during instrument flights, and additional headlights will ensure better illumination of the landing areas on the ground during night missions.
The new Rega helicopter is also particularly suitable for operations at high altitude thanks to the increased power provided by the two Safran Arriel 2E turbines, each delivering a maximum take-off power of 667/894 kW/hp and a maximum continuous power of 618/828 kW/hp.
Compared to its predecessor, the payload has been increased by around 150 kg (330 lbs). Overall, Rega is investing around CHF 200 million in the modernisation and expansion of its helicopter fleet, including costs for medical equipment and training.
By standardising its fleet, Rega will be able to improve synergies in crew training and maintenance.
Today, Rega operates two different types of rescue helicopter, which will be replaced by the end of 2026. With its new fleet of Airbus H145 D3s, maintenance costs and savings in the procurement and management of spare parts will be reduced, as well as the burden on crew training and instruction.

2025

April 17 - The Rega base in Lausanne, which carries out around 800 helicopter missions annually, is the first to receive the new Airbus H145 D3.
